    Itinerary 

    Day 1 - Rome

    Make your own way to Rome where you can meet us for the scheduled group transfers to your hotel. After settling into your room you’ll join the rest of the group for your first taste of Italy at a nearby restaurant.

    Day 2 - Rome

    After breakfast, unlock the secrets of the Eternal City on a panoramic walking tour. Discover one incredible sight after another, from the wonderfully preserved Pantheon to the impressive Spanish Steps. You’ll also wander around popular Piazza Navona, the city’s most famous Baroque square, and visit the spectacular 17th century Trevi Fountain.

    In the afternoon, explore Rome’s maze of cobbled streets solo or sign up for the optional ‘skip-the-line’ entrance to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel.

    Accommodations Day 1 and 2: Hotel Raganelli Rome

    The 4-star Raganelli Hotel in Rome has a convenient location close to the Vatican City and the charming city centre. Inside, you’ll find that the hotel has been decorated with excellent attention to detail, resulting in a modern yet cozy atmosphere.

    Hotel facilities include a bar, roof garden and Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Bedrooms have private facilities, air-conditioning, hairdryer and TV.

    Day 3 - Siena - San Gimignano

    Venture into Tuscany and stop off at stunning Siena, one of Italy’s best-preserved medieval cities. Marvel at its beautiful mansions, ornate palaces and cobbled streets on a walking tour, before taking a break for lunch at bustling Piazza del Campo. Continue your journey through San Gimignano and the idyllic landscapes of rural Tuscany en route to your hotel in Montecatini Terme, where you’ll relax over more tasty Italian fare.

    Day 4 - Castello Del Trebbio

    Tuscany’s cuisine is undeniably one of the region’s biggest draws. Today will be a real highlight for food lovers as you’ll get to visit the 12th century Castello del Trebbio and enjoy a private cookery class. We’ll learn all about the tastes and aromas of traditional Tuscan cooking and prepare our very own feast accompanied by amazing local wines from the historic estate’s own vineyards.

    Day 5 - Montecatini Terme - Day at Leisure

    Have a day completely to yourself or book onto our optional excursion to stunning Cinque Terre. The coastal region is made up of five remote cliff top villages overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. As they’re inaccessible by road, the trip will involve discovering two on a relaxing boat journey.

    Day 6 - Florence - Torre a Cona

    You can’t visit Tuscany without exploring Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance. Stroll across the enchanting Ponte Vecchio, admire the magnificent Duomo and marvel at the city’s glorious architecture during a guided tour.

    After lunch, the Torre a Cona wine estate awaits you just outside the city. Owned by Count Rossi di Montelera, we’ll embark on a tour of its historic wine cellars and sample four fine wines paired with local nibbles.

    Day 7 - Montecatini Terme - Day at Leisure 
    Soak up Tuscany at your own pace with a whole day of leisure time. If you’re keen to pack in more iconic Italian landmarks, why not join our optional Pisa and Lucca excursion?
    Learn about the Field of Miracles on a guided tour, which includes a viewing of the awe-inspiring Leaning Tower of Pisa. Afterwards, enjoy a scenic stroll along historic Lucca’s ancient ramparts. Opera fans can catch a show at the prestigious Montecatini Opera Festival in the evening.

    Accommodations day 3-7: Grand Hotel Tamerici & Principe
    Your hotel is ideally located in the centre of Montecantini Terme. Facilities include a garden terrace with swimming pool, restaurant, gym and spa. Guest rooms feature tea/coffee-making facilities. Room upgrades available.

    Day 8 - Orvieto - Rome
    We’ll break up the journey back to Rome with a pitstop in Orvieto that’s reached by funicular railway. The beautiful medieval town is best known for its mosaiced Duomo di Orvieto and otherworldly underground caves. Make your own dinner plans or enjoy an optional dining experience followed by an opera show in one of the area’s ancient churches.
